Outsourced CIO Services Company Announces
Certification Program for Technology Vendors: Recognizes First Two Recipients (View
All)
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Rockville, MD - January 23, 2004 - Baltimore, MD. At the first 2004 meeting
of the Greater Baltimore Technology Council's (GBTC) Tuesday bi-monthly
networking group, Entinex, a provider of outsourced CIO services formally
announced a certification program designed to raise confidence in buyers'
decisions in
technology vendors. Hillel Glazer, the company's Principal stated, "even
being generous with the data, over 70% of all software projects fail to
come
in on time, on budget and doing what the clients expected the product
to do. Neither the consumers nor the vendors are aware of this failure
rate and
consequently don't have processes in place to improve their chances of
success."
The program, dubbed the "Entinex Certified Pre-Qualified Vendor"
program, recognizes technology companies who can consistently deliver
their
products on time, budget, and with expected functionality. Citing studies
that resulted in the statistics, Glazer wants to recognize companies whose
projects are among the few successes and hopes more companies do what's
necessary to become a certified pre-qualified vendor, whether or not they
apply for the free certificate.
In search of key factors which have shown to provide the elements of
successful technology implementation, Entinex uses a proprietary method
to
interview companies on their product development and project management
approaches. John Hill, VP, and GM at Columbia-based software developer
and
consulting firm ActLikeAnOwner, among the first recipients of the certificate,
expressed, "we are honored to have earned the Entinex
Certification. It tells the business world that ActLikeAnOwner IT Consulting
produces business results -- on time and on budget."
The free process of becoming certified is consistent with Entinex's
creed of maintaining complete objectivity when making technology-related
recommendations to their clients. "It's not hard to find examples
of companies being led astray by technology vendors and losing a lot of
money
on failed technology purchases," Glazer says. Adding, "companies
who receive the certificate can use it in their marketing and proposals
as a way
of saying, 'we're honest, reliable, and deliver on our promises.'"
Lance Van Winter, CEO of Vansam Software in Rockville notes, "at
Vansam we work
very hard to ensure the timely success of each project we undertake, and
so we were honored to be awarded a Pre-Qualified Vendor status by Entinex.
Over the last year we have worked with Entinex on a number of projects
and have come to appreciate the way they ensure clients get quality solutions
on
time and on budget" something that is not common place in the IT
industry.
Entinex credits GBTC with creating the environment in which it was able
to pin its early successes and hopes the certification program can give
back to the local tech community by highlighting the excellent companies
in the area. Other GBTC members are already in the process of becoming
certified. The process of, and the advantages of working with companies
who are certified can be read on the company's Web site at www.entinex.com/advantage.
